About the artwork
The design has been adapted from the much loved mythic inspired painting 'The Birth of Venus' tempera panel painted artwork 'Primavera' by Italian Renaissance Sandro Botticelli (1445-1510), depicting the goddess Venus standing nude in a giant Scallop shell amidst sea spray and winds blown by the god Zephyrus, he and other figures blowing Venus to the shore.
