About the artwork

The design has been adapted from the Impressionist oil painting 'Bridge over a Pond of Water Lilies' (also known as The Japanese Footbridge) by Claude Monet (1840-1926), which features a dreamy view of a footbridge over a pond of pink water lilies amidst a lush green landscape. Monet created more than 200 water lily paintings in his life time, this is one from a series he began in 1899.
